WHO IS THE GIVING GROUP?

The Giving Group is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that allows us to accept donations through The Giving Group San Diego website and send our donation to the selected non-profit in one lump sum.

A few benefits to our partnership with The Giving Group:

  • you will not receive marketing materials to the non-profits we donate to
  • you will receive only one tax donation receipt per year (rather than four)
  • the subscription options make budgeting and scheduling your donations super easy and manageable

WHAT’S UP WITH THE 3% FEE?

The extra 3% is divided between credit card processing costs (2.2%) and legal and administrative fees for The Giving Group (0.8%).

WHAT IF I NEED TO “OPT-OUT” FOR A QUARTER?

This is not a problem at all! Simply email us at cindy@cindyaronstam.com and we will pause any payments for that quarter.

HOW DO I LEAVE THE GROUP?

We would be sad to see you go. Please email cindy@cindyaronstam.com and we will remove you from the list and any future automated payments.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Signing up is so easy. Click HOW TO JOIN at the top of the page nav. It’ll walk you through the sign-in process and give you options to add an automatic payment.

CAN I PAY BY CHECK?

You can still pay by check at the quarterly meetings. The check will be made out to “The Giving Group” and you can hand the check to Cindy Aronstam to deposit.

WHO DOES THE TAX FORM COME FROM?

The tax form will be a letter from The Giving Group at the end of the year indicating the total amount that you have donated for the given year. We will include the 501c3 information for your taxes.

WHAT WILL SHOW UP ON MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT?

You will see a charge from The Giving Group for the amount that we indicated when you signed up.

CAN I DONATE DIRECTLY TO THE NON-PROFIT?

Absolutely. We will still have a tracking form where you can go and indicate that you have donated on your own.

WILL MY INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH THE NON-PROFITS?

No, we will not send any personal information to the non-profit about who has donated. If you would like to be recognized by the non-profit and be added to their mailing list, please contact the non-profit and give them your information and how much you donated through The Giving Group San Diego.

HOW DO I SUBMIT AN EMPLOYER MATCH?

The Giving Group is a new non-profit and might not be set up as a match yet. Please search using our EIN of 81-3199292 and it will show up as Group Our Funds DBA The Giving Group. If we are not set up yet, please nominate us with your employer and we will give them the needed information as soon as we receive the request.
